Greek Masterpieces Fetch High Prices at Bonhams Auction

A recent Greek Sales auction at Bonhams, held in collaboration with Art Expertise, proved to be a resounding success, with works by renowned Greek artists fetching impressive prices.

The auction, which lasted nearly four hours, saw enthusiastic bidding from collectors eager to acquire pieces of Greece's artistic legacy.

The

highlight of the event was Yiannis Tsarouchis's "Young Man Disguised as Eros," which sold for a remarkable €572,000, solidifying the artist's prominence in the art market. 

Other notable sales included "Erotic" by Yiannis Moralis, which went for €483,000, and "Hydra" by Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, which reached €172,000.

The auction showcased the enduring appeal of Greek art, particularly works from the Generation of the '30s, which continue to resonate with collectors worldwide. 

Bonhams' successful event underscores its role in promoting Greek art on the international stage and achieving outstanding results for its contributors.
