Έχουν περάσει 10 χρόνια από τότε που ο πρίγκιπας Κάρολος βοήθησε να ξεκινήσει η Εκστρατεία για το Μαλλί (Campaign for Wool) σε μια προσπάθεια ενημέρωσης των καταναλωτών για το φυσικό, βιοδιασπώμενο και βιώσιμο υλικό.

engagements in Cumbria yesterday. ⠀ ⠀ The Duke and Duchess visited a traditional fell sheep farm – Deepdale Hall Farm in Patterdale – where they met the Brown family who have been farming in the valley near Lake Ullswater since the 1950s. Νωρίτερα φέτος, συνέχισε να μεταδίδει το μήνυμά του με μια σειρά βίντεο που παρέχουν σημαντικές γνώσεις σχετικά με τις περιβαλλοντικές διαφορές μεταξύ των φυσικών ινών και των τεχνητών επιλογών.

Αποτελούμενη από έξι βίντεο διάρκειας 15 δευτερολέπτων η σειρά με αφηγητή τον Άλεξ Τζέιμς των Blur προβάλλει τις αξιοσημείωτες διαφορές μεταξύ της χρήσης μαλλιού και τεχνητών ινών – σε χαλιά, ρούχα και κουρτίνες.

Προωθώντας το σύνθημα «επιλέξτε με σύνεση, ελέγξτε ότι είναι μαλλί»η καμπάνια προτρέπει τους καταναλωτές να μελετούν τις επιλογές τους όταν αγοράζουν.

«Όταν το μαλλί απορρίπτεται στο έδαφος ή στο νερό, χρειάζεται πολύ μικρός χρόνος για να διαλυθεί, ενώ είναι εξαιρετικά δύσκολη και αργή ή αδύνατη η διάσπαση των περισσοτέρων συνθετικών και πλαστικών» αναφέρει η οργάνωση στο Instagram. «Κάθε ένας από εμάς μπορεί να κάνει τη διαφορά όχι μόνο σήμερα αλλά κάθε μέρα» σημειώνεται.

«Υπάρχει ακόμη πολλή δουλειά που πρέπει να γίνει» ανέφερε ο πρίγκιπας Κάρολος της Ουαλίας στο συνέδριο της οργάνωσης το 2016, αναγνωρίζοντας ότι οι σχεδιαστές μόδας χρησιμοποιούν περισσότερο μαλλί στη δουλειά τους από ό, τι πριν από μια δεκαετία.

«Ως κάποιος που ενδιαφέρεται βαθιά για τις περιβαλλοντικές επιπτώσεις στη ζωή και τις συνέπειες στην ύπαιθρό μας, σας καλώ όλους να συνεχίσετε το φανταστικό έργο σας για να αξιοποιήσετε τα μεγάλα επιτεύγματα αυτής της εκστρατείας» υπογράμμισε.

Τώρα, η εκστρατεία πήγε ένα βήμα παραπέρα με τη λειτουργία ενός καλοκαιρινού pop-up στην παραλία του Porthtowan στην Κορνουάλη, σύμφωνα με το Vogue.
