Ήταν 1994 όταν η Ελίζαμπεθ Χάρλει συνόδευε τον Χιού Γκραντ στην πρεμιέρα της ταινίας στην οποία πρωταγωνιστούσε «Τέσσερις Γάμοι και μια Κηδεία», φορώντας ένα μαύρο μακρύ φόρεμα Versace με κοψίματα που στερέωναν χρυσές παραμάνες.

Σήμερα, 25 χρόνια μετά, το Versace μαύρο φόρεμα της Ελίζαμπεθ Χάρλεϊ θεωρείται ένα από τα πιο εικονικά κομμάτια στην ιστορία της μόδας, έχοντας μία δική του σελίδα στη Wikipedia,

The plunging Versace design held together with gold safety pins is to this day, one of the most famous red carpet dresses of all time. «Δεν είχα ιδέα από μόδα»

Η Ελίζαμπεθ Χάρλεϊ θυμάται το εικονικό αυτό φόρεμα του οίκου Versace, αυτή τη φορά για τις ανάγκες μίας φωτογράφησης στο περιοδικό μόδας Harper’s Bazaar.

«Χρειαζόταν επειγόντως να βρω ένα φόρεμα για να φορέσω την πρεμιέρα του Hugh και εκείνη την εποχή δεν είχα ιδέα από μόδα. Θυμάμαι να πηγαίνω σε ένα γραφείο όπου κυριολεκτικά «ψάρεψαν» ένα φόρεμα μέσα από μια λευκή πλαστική σακούλα. Το πήρα σπίτι και έκανα τα μαλλιά και το μακιγιάζ μόνη μου, παλεύοντας με τον Hugh για τον καθρέφτη …» θυμάται η Ελίζαμπεθ Χάρλεϊ, μιλώντας για το πως έγινε η επιλογή του φορέματος.

Στην φωτογράφηση του Harper’s Bazaar, η Ελίζαμπεθ Χάρλεϊ να μην φορά το συγκεκριμένο φόρεμα – είναι όμως πανομοιότυπο – ωστόσο η 53χρονη Χάρλεϊ δείχνοντας σέξι και λαμπρεή αποδεικνύει πως θα μπορούσε ακόμη να χωρέσει σε εκείνο που φόρεσε πριν από σχεδόν τρεις δεκαετίες. Ωστόσο, όπως η ίδια λέει δεν θα τολμούσε να το φορέσει σε κάποια δημόσια εμφάνισή της σήμερα, καθώς δεν θα ήταν κατάλληλο.
