Η «κινηματογραφική» νέα συλλογή του Valentino

Η ονειρική κολεξιόν Φθινόπωρο-Χειμώνας 2020-2021 του Valentino προσφερόταν για την έβδομη τέχνη και ο διευθυντής δημιουργικού του ιταλικού οίκου, ο Pierpaolo Piccioli, αξιοποίησε πλήρως τις δυνατότητες του βίντεο παρουσιάζοντας μια ταινία μικρού μήκους για το show.

Το «Of Grace and Light» ξεκινά με μια περιήγηση της Ρώμης, από την οποία κατάγεται ο Valentino Garavani.

Χωρίς χρώμα, η κάμερα περιδιαβαίνει στους άδειους δρόμους της ιταλικής πρωτεύουσας,

σταματώντας σε σημαντικά τοπόσημα της πόλης γύρω από τα στούντιο της Τσινετσιτά, όπου και σκηνοθετήθηκε το show.

Έντονες οι αναφορές στην ιταλική κινηματογραφική βιομηχανία, ιδιαίτερα στα ύφη των Φεντερίκο Φελίνι και Λουκίνο Βισκόντι οι οποίοι, ο καθένας με τον τρόπο του, ανέδειξαν την «dolce vita», αλλά ο Piccioli, σε συνεργασία με τον φωτογράφο Nick Night, απογείωσαν σε νέα ύψη αυτή την οπτική.

Μοντέλα εμφανίζονται σε μια σκοτεινή θεατρική σκηνή, είτε να κρέμονται από το ταβάνι είτε να στέκουν πάνω σε κολώνες, φορώντας φούστες που κυματίζουν ή topper, ενώ στην επιφάνεια προβάλλονται εικόνες φλογών, μπουκέτων λουλουδιών και άλλων στοιχείων της φύσης.

Η αίσθηση τονίζεται από το ότι το μοναδικό χρώμα στην κολεξιόν Φθινόπωρο-Χειμώνας 2020-2021 του οίκου είναι το λευκό! Για την ακρίβεια, ο Valentino Garavani είχε επαινεθεί για το ότι είχε επιλέξει αυτήν τη χρωματική παλέτα στις δημιουργίες του τού 1968.

Ωστόσο, αν αυτή η επιλογή εδραζόταν στο ύφος της μόδας εκείνης της εποχής, σήμερα ο Piccioli έδωσε στα σχέδιά του ένα απόκοσμο στοιχείο που παραπέμπει στα κοστούμια του μιούζικαλ του 1936 «The Great Ziegfeld» του Robert Z. Leonard, ενός δημιουργού που έφερε το γκλάμουρ στη μεγάλη οθόνη.
