Από τη θέση του ως επικεφαλής των αντρικών συλλογών του Dior, ξεκινώντας από το 2018, ο Κιμ Τζόουνς συνεχίζει να αντλεί έμπνευση από τα πλούσια αρχεία του διάσημου γαλλικού οίκου σε μια προσπάθεια να τιμήσει τον σχεδιαστή, Christian Dior.

Απλώς ρίξτε μια ματιά στο λογαριασμό του Instagram του σχεδιαστή για να δείτε τις ομοιότητες μεταξύ του ίδιου και του ιδρυτή του οίκου. Οι κοινές τους αναφορές στον  ιαπωνικό πολιτισμό είναι τόσο παρόμοιες! Η εκτίμησή του για τον δυτικό πολιτισμό ήταν κυρίαρχες κατά τη διάρκεια της πρώτης συλλογής του Dior, όπου κυριαρχούσαν οι εκτυπώσεις ανθισμένης κερασιάς, ή με την ευκαιρία της συλλογής πριν από το φθινόπωρο που παρουσιάστηκε στο Τόκιο, όπου ο Κιμ Τζόουνς έτυχε μεγάλης χαράς στην επανεξέταση του εικονικού ιαπωνικού κιμονό .

I made a Crystal calcified recreation of Christian Dior’s original Paris office from the 1950’s. Guests entering the venue for the @dior show yesterday walked through this experience before seating. @mrkimjones and I spent a lot of time in the Dior Archive preparing this collection and we were both interested in focusing on the objects from Mr. Dior’s daily life. I created a Calcite Crystal Dior clock that was found in his Atelier as well as the phone from Mr. Dior’s house in the south of France.
