Το αρχιτεκτονικό άγγιγμα του Πίτερ Μαρίνο σε κατάστημα Louis Vuitton

Έργα τέχνης των Tracy Emin και Campana Brothers χρησιμοποίησε ο αρχιτέκτονας Πίτερ Μαρίνο (Peter Marino) για να δώσει πνοή στο εσωτερικό του καταστήματος του Louis Vuitton στη New Bond Street του Λονδίνου.

Μετά από εργασίες ανακαίνισης, διάρκειας 14 μηνών,  το κατάστημα άνοιξε και πάλι τις πόρτες του, εντυπωσιάζοντας, σε μία γωνία οικοδομικού τετραγώνου στο Mayfair, στο Δυτικό Λονδίνο.

«Έχω δουλέψει με τον γαλλικό οίκο ειδών πολυτελείας από το 1994, και απομακρυνθήκαμε

από όλο αυτό το καφέ ξύλο που χρησιμοποιούσαμε αρχικά» εξήγησε ο αρχιτέκτονας Πίτερ Μαρίνο. «Υπήρξε μια πραγματική επανάσταση προς κάτι πιο ανάλαφρο, καθαρό και -θα τολμούσα να πω- πιο χαρούμενο» πρόσθεσε ο ίδιος.

Posted @withrepost • @whowhatwhit If you’ve ever lusted after a @louisvuitton handbag while walking down Manhattan’s 57th Street, eyed a pair of Chanel pumps in Tokyo’s Ginza, or feasted your eyes on Dior couture in a store window on Paris’s Avenue Montaigne, you probably have Peter Marino to thank. Among his many projects, Marino is responsible for devising the physical look for many of the world’s most exclusive luxury brands. There’s no doubt that his starchitecture has a halo effect on the goods inside. But at his magnificent estate in tony Southampton, New York, you won’t find anything under glass. I was beyond honored that my design maestro and hero called @elledecor to exclusively tell the story of his French porcelain obsession. At center stage are hundreds of pieces by Théodore Deck, a 19th-century French ceramist, piled on tables and lined up row after row in the main floor’s enfilade of rooms. Marino has always had a knack for going big. His passion for and knowledge of art and design—from motorcycles to modern masters—is virtually infinite. Deck porcelain, which he has been amassing for decades, is the subject of a new monograph, out October 16 from Phaidon, on which he collaborated with curator Etienne Tornier. And as to be expected, the book is not just a mere tome: It’s a lust-worthy object personally overseen by Marino that is a testament to enduring craft. “The French porcelain vampire bit my neck and I was hooked,” he told me. One look around Marino’s house reveals Deck’s amazing range, with styles that show the influence of everything from Japonism to Turkish Iznik pottery and Chinese export porcelain. “No one can place it when they see it,” Marino says. “They think Deck’s work is original, but it is actually the French interpretation. At the time, European society was opening up to all these new foreign influences, then adapting and Frenchifying them. Like all great art, this porcelain completely defined the culture in which it was produced. When you look at it, you go, ‘I understand everything.’” Amen to all that. Για παράδειγμα, σε έναν τοίχο του ισογείου, φιγουράρει ένας πίνακας της αμερικανίδας Sarah Crowner -σχήματα σε χρώμα μπλε, πορτοκαλί και φούξια, τα οποία συμπλέκονται. Δίπλα, ένα γλυπτό  σε σχήμα καρδιάς με νέον της Tracey Emin, στο οποίο αναγράφεται «love is what you want».

Συχνά, ο Πίτερ Μαρίνο είναι ο εκλεκτός των οίκων ειδών πολυτελείας που επιθυμούν ένα εντυπωσιακό κατάστημα λιανικής.

Το 2016, ο Μαρίνο δημιούργησε το κατάστημα-ναυαρχίδα του ελβετικού οίκου ρολογιών Hublot στη Νέα Υόρκη, πριν τέσσερα χρόνια, συνεργάστηκε με τον Christian de Portzamparc για τη μπουτίκ του οίκου Dior, στη Σεούλ, ενώ και η Chanel έχει εμπιστευτεί το αρχιτεκτονικό όραμα του Πίτερ Μαρίνο, για τα καταστήματά της σε Σεούλ και Κωνσταντινούπολη.

#tb completed in 2004, the 10 story building for @chanelofficial wrapped a cloak of light around the 3 level retail boutique, 4th floor concert and exhibition hall, floors of offices, restaurant Beige Alain Ducasse, and multifunction rooftop garden terrace.
