Τα ξίφη τους διασταύρωσαν για άλλη μία φορά οι υποψήφιοι για το χρίσμα των Ρεπουμπλικάνων, Νιουτ Γκίνγκριτς και Μιτ Ρόμνεϊ, σε ντιμπέιτ στη Φλόριντα. Βασικό θέμα του debate -το τελευταίο πριν την αναμέτρηση της Τρίτης-  ήταν η μετανάστευση, σε μία Πολιτεία με πολλούς μετανάστες.

Ο Μιτ Ρόμνεϊ αστειεύτηκε με τα σχέδια του Νιουτ Γκίνγκριτς να εγκαταστήσει μια μόνιμη βάση στη σελήνη. «Εάν ένα από τα στελέχη της επιχείρησής μου, ερχόταν και μου έλεγε ότι θέλει

να ξοδέψει μερικές εκατοντάδες δισεκατομμύρια ευρώ για να φτιάξει μια αποικία στο φεγγάρι, θα του έλεγα: Απολύεσαι».

Η «βάση στη Σελήνη» πυροδότησε ποικίλλα σχόλια στο twitter.
