H Land Rover θέλοντας να μας αποκαλύψει το κάτι παραπάνω του Discovery Sport, έδωσε μερικές ακόμη φωτογραφίες αλλά και ένα teaser video του νέου αυτοκινήτου. Η έκδοση παραγωγής του Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept αποτελεί ουσιαστικά τη νέα

γενιά του Freelander. Θα ξεκινήσει τις πωλήσεις του από το 2015 και θα βασίζεται πάνω στη μακριά έκδοση της LR-MS πλατφόρμας του Evoque, χρησιμοποιώντας αλουμίνιο και άλλα σύνθετα υλικά, ώστε να μειωθεί το βάρος.

Το εσωτερικό του δεν θυμίζει αυτό του πρωτότυπου, με το μοντέλο να προσφέρεται και με μηχανικό κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων στις entry-level μπροστοκίνητες εκδόσεις του και θα διαθέτει 5-θέσια και 7-θέσια έκδοση. Θα είναι διαθέσιμο με μια γκάμα τετρακύλινδρων AJ-200 ατμοσφαιρικών και κομπρεσοράτων κινητήρων, οι οποίοι θα καταναλώνουν λιγότερο καύσιμο, εκπέμποντας λιγότερο CO2. Ανάμεσα σε αυτούς θα συναντάμε και τον νέο 2,0-λιτρο turbodiesel.

Land Rover has dropped the biggest hint yet towards the design of Discovery Sport, with the debut of a new camouflage wrap confirming that the new compact SUV will be available with 5+2 seating.

As if ‘peeling back’ the outer layer of the vehicle, the camouflage reveals that the Discovery Sport will in fact have the option of two seats in the third row, enhancing its versatility and appeal as a compact, family SUV.

Prototype cars sporting the new camouflage design left Halewood, UK, where the Discovery Sport will be manufactured, to embark on final testing and development activity across several continents.

“As you would expect from a Discovery, the versatile Discovery Sport will feature optional 5+2 seating, offering spacious load space and configurable seating, while still retaining a more compact footprint than traditional 5-seat SUVs,” said Gerry McGovern, Design Director and Chief Creative Officer for Land Rover.

Discovery Sport will go on sale alongside the existing Discovery in 2015.
