Το πρώτο Honda Jet παραγωγής, ολοκλήρωσε την πρώτη πτήση του. Το αεροσκάφος απογειώθηκε από το Piedmont Triad International Airport την Παρασκευή που μας πέρασε, ανέβηκε στα 15.500 πόδια (4.724 μέτρα) και έπιασε ταχύτητα 348 κόμβων (644 km/h). Κατά τη διάρκεια της δοκιμαστικής πτήσης που διήρκεσε 84 λεπτά, το πλήρωμα έλεγξε όλες τις λειτουργίες του αεροσκάφους.

Μέχρι στιγμής, το Honda Jet

δεν έχει πιστοποίηση από την Federal Aviation Administration αλλά η εταιρία κατασκευάζει ήδη αρκετά από αυτά για να είναι έτοιμη όταν τελικά η υπηρεσία δώσει το ok. Να υπενθυμίσουμε πως το Honda Jet προωθείται ως “το ταχύτερο, πιο ήσυχο και πιο αποδοτικό jet στην κατηγορία του”. Η κίνηση να τοποθετήσει τους κινητήρες πάνω από τα φτερά βελτιώνει σημαντικά την απόδοση τους αλλά και την οικονομία καυσίμου, μειώνοντας παράλληλα τις αεροδυναμικές αντιστάσεις. Σχετικά με τους κινητήρες, αυτοί είναι δύο GE Honda HF120 που επιτρέπουν μέγιστη ταχύτητα ταξιδιού της τάξης των 420 κόμβων (777 km/h) και μέγιστο υψόμετρο της τάξης των 43.000 ποδιών (13.000 μέτρων). Το αεροσκάφος μπορεί να μεταφέρει έως και 5 επιβάτες ενώ η εμβέλεια του είναι 1.180 ναυτικά μίλια (κάτι λιγότερο από 2.200 χιλιόμετρα).

Flight Marks Milestone Toward Entry into Service

Honda Aircraft Company announced today that the first production HondaJet achieved its initial flight. The event took place at the company’s world headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, and marks another milestone toward aircraft certification and entry into service in 2015.

“With this first flight, the program has entered an exciting phase as we prepare for delivery,” said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino. “Today’s celebration is the culmination of extensive engineering and production efforts, and this is an important achievement in bringing the world’s most advanced light jet to market.”

The first production aircraft lifted off from the Piedmont Triad International Airport (KGSO) at 10:18 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. During the 84-minute flight, the aircraft climbed to 15,500 feet and reached a top speed of 348 Knots True Air Speed (KTAS). Following a smooth landing, the aircraft and its crew were greeted by more than 1,000 Honda Aircraft team members to commemorate the milestone.

Aircraft production continues its steady pace in advance of entry into service with ten aircraft now on the final assembly line. This steady build up supports the company’s objective to have aircraft ready for delivery immediately after Federal Aviation Administration type certification is achieved. The HondaJet will be single pilot certified and is currently offered for sale in North America and Europe through the HondaJet dealer network.
