SUMMARY:Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 10, 2016, to April 28, 2016 and equipped with a 3.6L engine built at the Saltillo engine plant. During the assembly of the engine, the fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged, which, over time, may result in a fuel leak.

CONSEQUENCE:A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.

REMEDY:Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine assembly for damage to the fuel rail crossover tube, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 19, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is S85.

Statement: Fuel Rail

November 18, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – FCA US LLC is recalling approximately 30,180 SUVs in the U.S. to locate an estimated 30 that may be subject to fuel leaks.

FCA US launched an investigation after a Company employee noticed and reported a fuel leak associated with a single vehicle. The probe discovered certain engines assembled during an 11-week period in first-quarter 2016 may have been subject to a manufacturing anomaly.

The anomaly – which caused inadvertent contact between a manifold fastener and the fuel rail – occurred infrequently. Resulting damage to the fuel rail may lead to leakage and, potentially, fire.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries, accidents, customer complaints or warranty claims.

Affected are an estimated 30,183 model-year 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs. Also included in the recall are an estimated 2,534 vehicles in Canada; 489 in Mexico and 1,427 outside the NAFTA region.

The campaign is limited to vehicles equipped with 3.6-liter V-6 engines. All vehicles will be inspected, and their fuel rails and lower intake manifolds will be replaced, as necessary.

Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service. In the interim, customers should be alert to potential fuel leaks and contact their dealers accordingly.
