American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has confirmed that it will debut the all-new 2015 Honda Fit and the newly-named 2015 Acura TLX Prototype at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) held in Detroit in January 2014.

2015 Honda Fit for US MarketThe 2015 Fit will build on the outgoing model’s innovative packaging, flexible cargo capability and fun-to-drive character with spirited new styling, an even more spacious and refined interior packed with leading-edge connected car technologies. The third generation Fit is set to offer enhanced fuel-efficiency and performance courtesy of its all-new platform and Earth Dreams Technology powertrain. Equipped with the Honda-exclusive next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, the new Fit is also anticipated to earn class-leading safety ratings.

The Honda press conference will take place at NAIAS on 13th January, at 2:40pm.

2015 Acura TLX Prototype2015 Acura TLX Prototype will mark the debut of a performance luxury mid-size sedan that replaces the outgoing TL model. In conjunction with the launch of the production TLX in the second half of next year, Acura will discontinue sales of the TSX model in 2014, as it moves to clarify its sedan line up with a clear hierarchy of three distinct models – the entry luxury ILX, mid-size TLX sports sedan, and flagship RLX performance sedan.

The all-new model will feature more emotional styling with tidier, sports sedan proportions wrapped around two all-new advanced powertrains that provide even more dynamic performance. The all-new Acura TLX will offer a wider range of choices with two all-new, high-performance and highly fuel-efficient direct-injected engines, each mated to an all-new advanced transmission, and with available in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

“This all-new Acura TLX is the perfect blend of style and muscle with its elegant, well-proportioned exterior that cloaks the true sport sedan chassis and powertrain beneath,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president, American Honda Motor, Co., Inc. “The sporty characteristics that customers found appealing in the TSX are even more pronounced in this aggressive new TLX.”

The Honda press conference will take place at NAIAS on 13th January, at 2:40pm and the Acura press conference will take place on 14th January, 11:05am, US Eastern Time(EST).

Parade of new vehicles headed for Detroit’s world stage

Detroit, Mich., Dec. 18, 2013 – The parade of fabulous new vehicles equipped with cutting-edge automotive technology from around the world is on its way to Detroit and to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

“It’s what we’ve been working toward since last January,” said Bob Shuman, chairman, NAIAS 2014. “The manufacturers continue to show their confidence in the NAIAS, and will once again bring their absolute best to Detroit’s world stage. The show is going to rock.”

With less than one month to go before the show opens to the largest media audience in North America, the industry remains focused on one of the top automotive events in the world.

“We’re at the top of our game,” said Shuman, who added the official NAIAS Press Conference Schedule, just released, features more than 40 media events over the two-day Press Preview, Jan. 13-14, 2014.

“That means introductions of an expected 50 worldwide concept and production vehicles that will be seen for the very first time right here in Detroit,” Shuman added.

Most of the press conferences will take place at the renovated Cobo Center, with some events held in the new glass atrium facing the Detroit River. As it has been for the past few years, the Ford Motor Company press conference will be at neighboring Joe Louis Arena on Mon., Jan. 13, at 8:10 am.

With more than 5,000 journalists from around the globe expected to attend the NAIAS, the show continues to be at the forefront as a venue for manufacturers and Tier One suppliers to announce new vehicles and make industry news. NAIAS also attracts large numbers of high ranking auto executives.

“Just by looking at the numbers, top management knows that Detroit is where they need to be,” added Shuman.
