Όπου υπάρχει καπνός υπάρχει και φωτιά, λέει μια παροιμία, και όπως ανακοίνωσε το BBC, ο Chris Evans είναι ο νέος κεντρικός παρουσιαστής του Top Gear. Ο Βρετανός υπέγραψε τριετές συμβόλαιο με το BBC ώστε να ηγηθεί την ομάδα των παρουσιαστών του Top Gear.

Ο Evans δήλωσε:

Είμαι ενθουσιασμένος, το Top Gear είναι το αγαπημένο μου πρόγραμμα όλων των εποχών. Δημιουργήθηκε από μια σειρά λαμπρών μυαλών που αγαπούν τα αυτοκίνητα και είχαν την δυνατότητα να κατανοήσουν πώς να το κάνουν να έχει μαζική, παγκόσμια απήχηση. Υπόσχομαι ότι θα κάνω ό,τι είναι δυνατόν για να σεβαστώ το παρελθόν του και να συμβάλλω την περαιτέρω ανάπτυξή του.

Ο Kim Shillinglan, επικεφαλής του BBC Two και BBC Four είπε:

Είμαι πολύ ευχαριστημένος που ο Chris θα παρουσιάσει το Top Gear. Η γνώση του και το πάθος του για τα αυτοκίνητα είναι γνωστά, και σε συνδυασμό με την απόλυτη ευρηματικότητα του, αλλά και τον απρόβλεπτο χαρακτήρα του, είναι η τέλεια επιλογή για να αναλάβει το μέλλον του αγαπημένου μας show.

Chris Evans to lead new Top Gear line-up

We’re announcing today that Chris Evans has signed a three-year deal to lead an all-new Top Gear line-up.
