Η Citroen ένωσε τις δυνάμεις της με το Γαλλικό pop group “Hyphen Hyphen” για να μας παρουσιάσει το SpaceTourer Hyphen concept. Ένα πρωτότυπο όχημα που συνδυάζει την δυναμικότητα ενός SUV με την πρακτικότητα ενός MPV και ξεχειλίζει από ενέργεια.

Το design

του SpaceTourer Hyphen concept είναι πιο σκληροτράχηλο με ελαφρώς διαφορετικό εμπρός προφυλακτήρα και πλαστικά προστατευτικά μαύρου χρώματος εμπρός, πίσω και στο πλάι. Το πρωτότυπο “πατάει” σε ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος 19 ιντσών ενώ η απόσταση από το έδαφος είναι αυξημένη συγκρινόμενη με αυτήν της έκδοσης παραγωγής του SpaceTourer.

Στο εσωτερικό όμως, οι σχεδιαστές ξεσάλωσαν. Από τη μία είναι οι τεράστιοι χώροι που ούτως ή άλλως διαθέτει το SpaceTourer αλλά από την άλλη, είναι τα έντονα χρώματα και τα ιδιαίτερα υλικά που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για να κάνουν την καμπίνα μία εμπειρία από μόνη της.

Κάτω από το καπό, βρίσκεται ένας BlueHDi 150 S&S πετρελαιοκινητήρας που συνδυάζεται με ένα 6-τάχυτο, μηχανικό κιβώτιο ενώ το SpaceTourer Hyphen concept εξοπλίζεται και με σύστημα τετρακίνησης. Το πρωτότυπο θα κάνει ντεμπούτο στην έκθεση της Γενεύης.

SPACETOURER HYPHEN CONCEPT: CITROËN TURNS UP THE VOLUME

Coinciding with the launch of the new SpaceTourer, Citroën is joining forces with French pop group “HYPHEN HYPHEN” to unveil a bright, vibrant 4×4 concept vehicle: the Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN. Bursting with optimism and energy, amplifying the character of the production version, the SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept will be at the top of Citroën’s playlist at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept has bright, breezy, go-anywhere looks that inspire thoughts of unlimited travel. As its name suggests, this concept model forges a clear link between families and groups of friends; MPVs and SUVs; cities and wide open spaces. Everyone is encouraged to step on board and to enjoy an adventure together.

It felt only natural for Citroën to join forces with pop group HYPHEN HYPHEN, who are a lively young group from Nice in the South of France. Nominated for the 2016 French music awards, HYPHEN HYPHEN is becoming hugely popular in the electronic pop scene.

As well as boasting all the features of the production version, the Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN offers:

SUPERCHARGED DESIGN

The Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept exudes dynamism and energy, evoking freedom, leisure, and open-air activities at first sight. The overall balance and compact dimensions suggest strength and determination, without being overly aggressive.

The Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN has an SUV personality and accentuates the original, robust style of the production vehicle. The concept has a broader front bumper design, wheel arch trims and sill protectors inspired by the Aircross concept. All of these features are finished in a matt Dark Moondust colour that is amplified by red-orange highlights.

With a higher ride-height than the production version, the SpaceTourer HYPHEN sits on 19-inch diamond-cut matt black alloy wheels with red-orange detailing. To emphasise its all-terrain credentials, five elastomer straps are positioned on each tyre to suggest optimum grip.

This strap design also features on the concept’s front and rear bumpers. Formed from anodised aluminum, they give the impression of even greater sturdiness. They also bring climbing equipment to mind: straps, ropes and carabiners.

The fresh, soft, iridescent green body colour enhances the vehicle’s fluid lines and evokes nature. The colour stands out even more as it contrasts with the gloss black roof and red-orange hexagonal-patterned decals.

The SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept is made for more than just everyday journeys. It brings to life the experience of travelling as a family or group of friends, when fun and freedom awaits you.

INVIGORATING INTERIOR

When you open the sliding side door, passengers are instantly ushered into a dazzling world with a bright, dynamic atmosphere that promotes well-being. The roomy, functional interior space is packed with comfort-enhancing features and bold colours – from the roof lining to the door panels and the seats to the center console.

Once aboard the Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN, every occupant enjoys VIP treatment. Each seat is given a unique colour scheme, repeating the shaded tones and graphic choices throughout the cabin. The lower portions of the seats are finished in sea-green Nappa leather with contrasting top stitching.

Promoting an energising, refreshing and cosy ambience, there is also outstanding acoustic comfort and thick floor mats in rich, soft wool.

The roof lining and dashboard are wrapped in a special fabric to harmonise with the colours and design of the seats. The entire interior is bathed in natural light that pours in through the broad glass sunroof.

Overall, the Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN has an interior with asymmetric style and bold 2D and 3D aesthetics. The purpose is to guarantee an energising experience, where all the occupants can enjoy fun, freedom and unlimited adventures.

EXTENDED MOBILITY

Equipped with a BlueHDi 150 S&S diesel engine and a six-speed manual gearbox, the SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept has on-demand four-wheel drive developed in collaboration with Automobiles Dangel. This drivetrain has the trailblazing capabilities of a 4×4 and also preserves the handling and dynamic characteristics of the production SpaceTourer.

This all-terrain option delivers improved traction in challenging conditions when there is reduced grip. The SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept also has higher ground clearance than the production vehicle.

This bespoke 4×4 transmission doesn’t compromise any of the standard SpaceTourer’s characteristics in terms of comfort, safety, and practicality.

The SpaceTourer HYPHEN concept will be unveiled on the Citroën stand in Hall 6 at the Geneva Motor Show at 9:30am on Tuesday 1 March.
