Η Jaguar XFR-S έκανε ντεμπούτο στο Goodwood

Η Jaguar στο φεστιβάλ του Goodwood που διεξήχθη σήμερα, παρουσίασε την XFR-S. Βαμμένη σε κόκκινο χρώμα, η Jaguar XFR-S οδηγήθηκε από τον Andy Wallace, ο οποίος είχε κερδίσει το 1988 τον 24-ωρο αγώνα του Le Mans. Μαζί με την XFR-S, η Jaguar και την Jaguar Mk. II του 1962 και την 1954 ‘short nose’ Jaguar D-Type – chassis No.1

Η Jaguar XFR-S

είχε παρουσιαστεί επίσημα στην έκθεση του Los Angeles τον Νοέμβριο του 2012. Είναι διαθέσιμη σε 5 χρώματα (μπλε, μαύρο, γκρι, λευκό και κόκκινο) και μηχανικά φορά έναν κομπρεσοράτο V8 5,0-λίτρων κινητήρα απόδοσης 550 ίππων με 680 Nm ροπής με τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα να τα κάνει σε 4,6 δευτερόλεπτα με την τελική ταχύτητα να περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 300 χλμ/ώρα.

Ο κινητήρας συνδυάζεται με ένα 8-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο της ZF που προσαρμόζεται ανάλογα με το στυλ οδήγησης του κάθε οδηγού, έτσι όσο περισσότερο επιθετικά οδηγεί κάποιος, τόσο πιο γρήγορα και πιο ψηλά θα κάνει τις στροφές. Συνδυάζεται με σύστημα Start/Stop με την μπροστά ανάρτηση να είναι κατά 30% πιο σκληρή.

Έχει δοκιμαστεί στο Nürburgring και στο Nardo και φορά μεγάλες ζάντες 20″ με ελαστικά της Pirelli διαστάσεων 265/35 μπροστά και 295/30 πίσω. Στην Αγγλία ξεκινά από τις £79.995 και ήδη είναι διαθέσιμη για παραγγελία.

NEW JAGUAR XFR-S MAKES WORLD DYNAMIC DEBUT AT GOODWOOD (NEW IMAGES NOW AVAILABLE)

The new Jaguar XFR-S made its global dynamic debut on the famous Goodwood Hill today. Finished in Italian Racing Red, the prototype version of Jaguar’s fastest ever sports saloon was driven in front of a media audience at Goodwood by 1988 Le Mans 24hr race winner Andy Wallace.

First shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November last year, the stunning XFR-S was joined at Goodwood Festival of Speed press day by heroes of Jaguar’s sporting past. A 1962 Jaguar Mk. II prepared by Jaguar Heritage Racing, and a 1954 ‘short nose’ Jaguar D-Type – chassis No.1 and itself a development prototype – were also on display by the Jaguar Heritage Trust in front of Goodwood House.

Jaguar XFR-S performance highlights

The new XFR-S is capable of sprinting from zero to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds), and up to the electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h). The XFR-S builds on the performance of the acclaimed XFR to create an even more focused product. With an increase of 40PS and 55Nm over the XFR in power and torque from its 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, the XFR-S produces an astonishing to 550PS and 680Nm, yet with with no impact on fuel consumption or CO2 emissions.

The new Jaguar XFR-S is available to order now, priced in the UK at £79,995.
