Η ανάκληση αφορά τα 2003-2008 Mazda6 που κατασκευάστηκαν μεταξύ 29/5/2002 και 5/5/2008, το 2004-2008 Mazda RX-8 παραγωγής από 10/4/2003 έως και 18/2/2008, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 παραγωγής μεταξύ 4/8/2005

και 29/6/2007 και 2004-2006 B-Series pickup παραγωγής μεταξύ 17/3/2003 και 2/5/2006.

Μέσα στον κυκεώνα εξελίξεων, η Takata ανακοίνωσε πως διορίσει επικεφαλής ποιότητας στο διοικητικό της συμβούλιο, τον Hiroshi Shimizu, χορηγώντας του περισσότερη εξουσία, ενώ ανακοίνωσε πως ο πρώην πρόεδρος Stefan Stocker θα παραιτηθεί από το διοικητικό συμβούλιο της εταιρίας.

SUMMARY:Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2003-2008 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured May 29, 2002, to May 5, 2008, 2004-2008 RX-8 vehicles manufactured April 10, 2003, to February 18, 2008, and 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 vehicles manufactured August 4, 2005, to June 29, 2007. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion and other factors, including manufacturing variability that, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.

CONSEQUENCE:In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver’s frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

REMEDY:Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver’s frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda’s number for this recall is 7914J. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V344 in its entirety. Additionally, vehicles that have had their driver’s frontal air bag replaced previously as part of a recall remedy need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well.

SUMMARY:Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2004-2006 Mazda B-series light trucks manufactured from April 17, 2003, through May 2, 2006. The affected vehicles are equipped with a passenger side frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon deployment.

CONSEQUENCE:In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger’s frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

REMEDY:Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the the passenger side frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by the end of July 2015. Owners may contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda’s number for this recall is 8315F. Note: This recall expands and partially supersedes recall 14V773 as to the model year 2004 through 2006 Mazda B-series vehicles only.
