H Toyota κατάφερε για 4η συνεχόμενη χρονιά να είναι η μεγαλύτερη αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία του κόσμου από πλευράς πωλήσεων. Οι φίρμες που βρίσκονται κάτω από την ομπρέλα της (Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu, Scion και Hino), κατά τη διάρκεια του περασμένου έτους πούλησαν συνολικά 10.151.000 αυτοκίνητα, 0,8% λιγότερα από τα 10.230.000 του 2014. Το ένα πέμπτο περίπου των συνολικών πωλήσεων της έγινε στην

εγχώρια ιαπωνική αγορά, εκεί όπου πούλησε 2,15 εκατ. αυτοκίνητα.

Η Ιαπωνική εταιρία διατήρησε τα σκήπτρα της μεγαλύτερης αυτοκινητοβιομηχανίας παγκοσμίως για 4η συνεχόμενη χρονιά, με το VW Group με τις 9.930.600 πωλήσεις να τερματίζει στη δεύτερη θέση και την GM με 9.800.000 πωλήσεις στη τρίτη.
