"Yanis Varoufakis as a Finance Minister has played a leading role in the negotiation since the first day of the government. The Prime Minister feels the need to thank him for his unremitting efforts to promote the government's positions and interests of the Greek people, under very difficult conditions," government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis said in a statement.
