water and other natural resources in arid and semi-arid environments.Position DescriptionThe EEWRC solicits applications of individuals interested in the organization and coordination of research on climate change and its impacts in the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The
aim is to help develop a research program, based on a recent climate change assessment of this region, with a
focus on climate change impacts, for example associated with
water scarcity and
weather extremes. Tasks will include the organization of meetings and conferences, managerial aspects of the research agenda and maintaining contacts with national and international partners.Candidate ProfileCandidates must be located in
Cyprus for the duration of the appointment. Candidates should have:University Degree or equivalent preferably in natural sciences or a relevant scientific fieldProven experience in research management including financial administration is essential.Experience in preparing and writing scientific reports; Involvement in proposal writing and knowledge or at least interest in the field of climate change impacts would be an advantage.Excellent knowledge of oral and written
English. Knowledge of
Greek and/or of other languages will be considered as an advantage.Excellent IT skills in MS

dynamic team of researchers, investigating
air quality and climate change in the Mediterranean region, funded by EC/ERC. The
project aims to improve the understanding of aerosol and
cloud processes and their representation in regional and
global climate

The appointment will be for a fixed term of 1 year. Description of the PositionThe Post-doctoral Scientist(s) in Atmospheric Sciences will be involved in vegetation and remote sensing

PhD in natural sciences, knowledge of atmospheric chemistry and related research and experience in computer modeling.· An adequate publication record and familiarity with the formulation of research proposals.· Excellent knowledge of oral and written

member will advance EEWRC’s research agenda related to atmospheric observations and experimental atmospheric research in close collaboration with the climate sciences research
group and the Center’s Director. The successful candidate is expected to
build up an experimental atmospheric research laboratory and will lead the installation, implementation and operation of analytical instrumentation (GC, IC and HPLC) in the new CyI laboratory
building. This will be pursued in close collaboration with colleagues from other CyI centers/ research groups. In addition, the successful candidate will actively engage in research related to satellite and airborne atmospheric observationsHe/she will contribute to the
design and analyses of novel ground-based and remote sensing instrumentation/ observations with a
focus on trace gases and atmospheric aerosols in the Eastern Mediterranean.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for helping to

member will advance the research agenda of the
Water Research Division of the EEWRC in close collaboration with the Center’s Director and other senior
staff. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research addressing the problem of
water availability and
water use in the arid to semi-arid Eastern Mediterranean and on
Cyprus. Particular emphasis should
lie on research related to
water availability and
water quality in
light of anticipated changes in climate conditions in the Mediterranean Basin. This will also include the
design and implementation of observational and monitoring studies linked to numerical modeling in the field of hydrology, meteorology and surface - atmosphere trace
gas exchanges. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to also lead the vigorous development of the experimental infrastructure of the Center in Nicosia.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for helping to
