Child Missing After Migrant Boat Runs Aground Near Samos

Greek authorities are searching for a child who went missing after a migrant boat ran aground off the coast of Samos on Sunday.

The coast guard rescued 46 survivors, including 21 children, but one mother reported that her child fell into the sea and disappeared during the incident.

Divers and coast guard vessels are searching the area, but so far have found no trace of the missing child. The nationalities of the migrants on board are currently unknown.

This incident highlights the ongoing dangers faced by migrants attempting to reach Greece. Many make the perilous journey in small, overcrowded boats from the Turkish coast to Greek islands like Samos.

In a separate incident on Monday, 40 migrants, including nine children, were rescued from an islet near Chios and taken to a reception center.
