Greek Siblings Achieve International Recognition on Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Two siblings from Thessaloniki have been named to the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, highlighting their remarkable achievements in science and technology. 

Antonia Vogt, 27, and Kimon-Aristotelis Vogt, 26, have both garnered international recognition for their pioneering work in their respective fields.

Antonia, a leading researcher in stem cells and cancer treatment, earned the top

spot on the Forbes list in the research category. 

Her groundbreaking work focuses on developing new treatments for glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Ms. Vogt, who raised her daughter as a solo mother from the age of 17, has overcome significant challenges to reach the pinnacle of her field. She hopes her story will inspire young people to pursue their dreams, regardless of the obstacles they may face.

"For those who keep their vision and dreams alive within them, success is certain," she told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA).

Antonia's career has been marked by academic excellence, including a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a PhD in surgery at the University of Cambridge

She has worked with prestigious institutions like the Curie Institute in France and the University of Illinois.

 In addition to her research, Ms. Vogt is also a passionate advocate for supporting talented students, having founded the Cambridge University Robotic Surgery Society in 2021.

Her brother, Kimon-Aristotelis, is an electrical engineer and AI entrepreneur who has made significant contributions to the field of artificial intelligence. 

Mr. Vogt studied at Harvard, where he taught engineering and later founded Sporo Health, a company that develops AI-powered solutions for healthcare challenges.

Mr. Vogt emphasized the importance of teamwork in his success, stating, "This recognition isn't just about me; it's a testament to my team's dedication and the system we've built together." He has also worked at Carnegie Mellon University, where he developed algorithms for detecting EEG malfunctions and secured international patents for his work.

Mr. Vogt is passionate about using AI to improve healthcare in Greece. 

"My vision is to see Greece at the forefront of AI in healthcare," he said, expressing his desire to bring Sporo Health's innovative solutions to Greek hospitals and clinics.

The siblings' inclusion on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list is a testament to their talent, dedication, and the potential for Greek innovation to make a global impact.
