Kasselakis announces new political movement after leaving SYRIZA

"We are creating a movement for democracy, free citizens and progress," Stefanos Kasselakis said on Saturday addressing the gathered supporters during the announcement of the establishment of the "progressive movement."

Kasselakis did not announce the name of the party, stressing that the members of the party

will decide it. "You will be the ones to decide the name, you, the progress party, you will be the owners and the president will be your servant."

Regarding his decision to leave SYRIZA, he said: "We do not remain in an anti-democratic party, we create a party from society for society. We are establishing a party for the members. And in this party, you all have equal participation and ownership. It belongs to you, not me. It is difficult to make such a beginning, but what we are doing is the continuation of the democratic SYRIZA. We put people at the center of politics."
