MRB Poll: New Democracy Leads by 12.5 Points as Pasok Rises to Second, Syriza Falls to Fifth

A recent MRB poll for Open TV reveals a 12.5-point lead for New Democracy (ND) over Pasok, with Syriza slipping to fifth place.

ND holds 21.7% in voting intention, while Pasok follows with 12%, marking the first time in recent months that ND’s lead has dropped to single

digits. Other notable parties include Greek Solution with 8.2%, the Communist Party (KKE) at 7.8%, and Syriza, now at a low 7%. The poll also shows 16.4% of voters remain undecided.

When adjusted for voter turnout, ND reaches 28%, with Pasok securing second place at 15.5%. Greek Solution comes in third at 10.6%, followed by KKE at 10.1%, and Syriza at 9%.

In Syriza, internal strife continues after the ousting of former leader Stefanos Kasselakis. Among Syriza voters, 63.2% disagree with his removal, and a large portion (39.8%) still support him as their preferred leader.

Mr. Kasselakis leads over other potential contenders such as Sokratis Famellos, Pavlos Polakis, and Apostolos Gkletsos. Meanwhile, a hypothetical return of former leader Alexis Tsipras is viewed negatively by 51.9% of the general electorate but positively by 56.3% of Syriza’s core voters.

In Pasok’s leadership race, Nikos Androulakis remains the frontrunner, with Haris Doukas in a close contest. Other candidates, including Anna Diamantopoulou and Pavlos Geroulanos, are trailing behind but remain in the race.

The poll highlights the shifting dynamics in Greek politics, with PASOK solidifying its position as the main opposition to ND, while Syrizafaces significant internal challenges and declining voter support.
