Microsoft Data Center in Greece on Track for 2025 Launch

Construction of Microsoft's first data center in Greece is progressing on schedule, with the facility expected to be operational in 2025.

Government ministers recently visited the construction site in Spata, eastern Attica, and were briefed on the project's progress by Microsoft representatives.

The Spata data

center is the first of three planned Microsoft data centers in Greece, part of the company's "GRforGrowth" initiative and its broader investment strategy in the country.

"The construction of the first of the three data centers that Microsoft is set to develop in Greece serves as tangible proof of the close collaboration between the government and the company," said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The new data center will provide cloud services to businesses and organizations in both the public and private sectors, offering high-speed connectivity and enhanced security.

It will be part of Microsoft's global Azure Cloud network, one of the largest and most secure in the world.

In addition to the data center, Microsoft is also investing in the local community through education, employment, and cultural heritage programs.

The project is expected to significantly boost Greece's technological infrastructure and contribute to the country's digital transformation.
