Ministry of Finance Highlights Significant Progress in Greek Economy Over the Past Five Years

The Greek Ministry of Finance has announced significant strides in the country's economy, citing major achievements across key economic indicators that reflect a marked improvement in the standard of living for its citizens.

According to the ministry's statement, Greece has achieved some of the fastest progress among EU nations in several critical areas.

"Greece has demonstrated the highest, or among the highest, rates of progress across the EU in a number of essential sectors," the statement emphasized.

The Ministry acknowledges the challenges posed by the global inflationary shock, which has impacted household purchasing power since 2022.

It also recognizes that wages and salaries in Greece still lag behind the European average.

However, the Ministry firmly rejects any attempts to undermine the significant economic accomplishments made, warning against the portrayal of a bleak and inaccurate picture that does not reflect reality.

"The reality is that since 2019, the Greek economy has been undergoing a transformation, resulting in tangible growth dividends and the reduction of inequalities for the benefit of all Greeks," the statement continued.

This progress, according to the Ministry, has been acknowledged by international organizations, foreign governments, media outlets, and analysts who have consistently spoken positively about Greece.

The Ministry also highlighted "7 key achievements and 7 truths" regarding the Greek economy, underscoring the nation's advancements and ongoing efforts to enhance economic stability and prosperity.
