New Tilos museum inaugurated

Culture Minister Lina Mendoni has inaugurated the new Diachronic Museum in Tilos, a landmark moment for the island's cultural heritage.

The museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts that tell the story of Tilos from the Late Bronze Age to the Post-Byzantine era.

Visitors can explore ceramic cups from the "Garipa" site dating back to the Late Bronze Age, vessels from the "Lakkia" site, and an inscription from the Asklepion of Kos, among other fascinating finds.

The museum is built on land donated by the Holy Metropolis of Symi, Tilos, Chalki, and Kastellorizo, it construction was largely funded by EU subsidies.

The grand opening not only celebrates Tilos' rich history but also paves the way for increased cultural tourism and a deeper understanding of the island's past.
