he Stavros Niarchos Foundation announced that the Silver Cup awarded to Spyros Louis, the first Marathon Winner at the inaugural Modern Olympic Games, has been temporarily moved to Switzerland and will be exhibited at the Olympic
Museum, in Lausanne.

It will now move for a limited period of time to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, the largest Olympic Games archive in the world.

Following this six-month period, the Cup will return to Greece and will be exhibited once again at the Acropolis Museum, while from 2016 onwards it will be on permanent display at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
