Athens Stock Exchange opening: Decline

Equity prices were declining at the opening on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.95 percent, standing at 1,274.26 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 11.295 million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 1.08 percent, and the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down, 1.06 percent.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly downwards, with the biggest gains in Commerce, up 0.46 percent; Personal and Household Goods, up 0.18 percent and in Chemicals, up 0,15 percent.
The biggest losses were in Banks, down 1.96 percent; Financial Services, 1.48 percent and in Oil and Gas, down 1.44 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 19 were up, 49 were down, and 11 were unchanged.
