Parliament to vote on suspension of state funding for Golden Dawn

The parliament’s ethics committee recommended the suspension of extreme-right Golden Dawn’s funding and parliament is expected to pass the recommendation with a majority of deputies, as indicated by the debate late Tuesday at the parliament plenum.

All parties with the exception of Golden Dawn agreed with the ethics committee, which decided on grounds that the party operates as a criminal organisation; currently the party is facing court charges of operating as a criminal organisation.

However, the Independent Greeks (ANEL) party expressed some reservations.
