Prime Minister Samaras in Lithuania Thursday

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande will also participate in the summit, with a view towards signing an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union – a text of 900 pages in a form of binding relationship.
The summit was supposed to take place earlier, but plans changed when the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, said that the signing of the agreement was postponed indefinitely. It is said that Yanukovich has succumbed to the pressures by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is proposing a binding relationship with Russia provided that Ukraine does not have respective relations with the EU.
Apart from Ukraine, also participating in the summit are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus.
