Ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι, η σύζυγός του Μέγκαν Μάρκλ και ο μικρός Άτσι, το τεσσάρων μηνών αγοράκι τους, βρίσκονται από την Δευτέρα (23/9) στην Αφρική, πραγματοποιώντας την πρώτη τους επίσημη οικογενειακή περιοδεία μετά τη γέννηση του παιδιού τους.
Το πριγκιπικό ζεύγος έχει ήδη πραγματοποιήσει τις πρώτες επισκέψεις του, με τα φλας των φωτογράφων να απαθανατίζουν κάθε στιγμή της «γαλαζοαίματης» οικογένειας.

Day two of #SussexRoyalTour is underway, and The Duke and Duchess have joined young South Africans and @WavesForChange to focus on mental health and take part in ‘surf therapy’. • Hundreds of young people from Cape Town’s townships Meet every week at Monwabisi beach to surf, but also share stories with mentors and talk through the daily challenges they face. Their Royal Highnesses were able to hear how the sessions are building trust, confidence, and belonging, and they also got to join in as children took part in ‘power hand’, which teaches them how to keep calm down reflect on strengths. While on the beach The Duke and Duchess met @TheLunchBoxFund – which was one of the charities they nominated to benefit from donations following the birth of their son, Archie. Almost 30,000 meals are provided by the charity every day across South Africa, including the three @WavesForChange projects. Η Μέγκαν Μαρκλ, αρκετά ανανεωμένη κι έχοντας χάσει αρκετά από τα κιλά της εγκυμοσύνης της, τη δεύτερη ημέρα του ταξιδιού, επιφύλασσε μία μεγάλη έκπληξη στις κάμερες που ακολουθούν το πριγκιπικό ζεύγος, όταν ξεκίνησε να χορεύει ξέφρενα τοπικούς χορούς της Nyanga υπό τους ήχους των τυμπάνων.
Αν και στην αρχή φάνηκε διστακτική, η δούκισσα του Σάσεξ έδειχνε να διασκεδάζει ιδιαίτερα, ενώ δεν σταμάτησε να ψάχνει με το βλέμμα της και τον πρίγκιπα Χάρι, ο οποίος προσπάθησε να ακολουθήσει τα βήματα στο χορό.

Today, we are excited to be able to announce details for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming tour to Africa! • In just two weeks, Their Royal Highnesses will embark on this official tour focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment. This programme has been many months in the making, and The Duke and Duchess are eager to focus their energies on the great work being done in Southern Africa. From meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu to joining ‘Waves for Change’ on Monwabisi Beach, the South Africa programme will be educational and inspiring. The Duke is especially proud to continue the legacy left by his mother with her work in Angola as he joins Halo Trust again in an effort to rid the world of landmines. HRH will also travel to Malawi where he will check in on the British Army’s partnership with African Parks and will be working on the ground supporting local communities. The Duke is particularly proud to be able to deliver an exciting new initiative, a Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy three-country partnership which he designed and consulted with Governments in Namibia, Botswana and Angola to protect forest and wildlife corridors around the Okavango Delta. The Duchess will be working with local organisations to promote women and girls’ health and education, entrepreneurship and leadership. With such a textured culture and history, Their Royal Highnesses are grateful for the opportunity to connect with those on the ground in Southern Africa and to be inspired by the work being done and learn how they can be better supported. South Africa • After months of planning, Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in South Africa today for their official Royal Tour of Southern Africa – focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment. Their first stop was to the incredible Justice Desk Project which works to make women and children safer in Nyanga. It’s an issue of vital importance in South Africa and across the globe, their Royal Highnesses wanted to learn first-hand about the issues people face and the work being done on the ground. One of the workshops Their Royal Highnesses saw was the Mbokodo project which provides self-defense classes and female empowerment workshops to young girls who are overcoming major traumas. Ο Χάρι και η Μέγκαν, λίγο μετά την άφιξή τους σε μια παραγκούπολη του Κέιπ Τάουν, παρακολούθησαν ένα κοινοτικό πρόγραμμα αυτοάμυνας κοριτσιών, καθώς η Νότια Αφρική μαστίζεται από τη βία, ενώ το ζευγάρι το υποδέχτηκαν με μουσική, χορούς και πανό που έγραφαν συνθήματα όπως «Έχω το δικαίωμα να ζω σε ειρήνη» ή «Ενωμένοι για τα δικαιώματα των παιδιών».
Στο πρόγραμμά τους του πρίγκιπα Χάρι και της Μέγκαν Μαρκλ, περιλαμβάνεται μεταξύ άλλων επίσκεψη στο μουσείο District 6, που τιμά χιλιάδες οικογένειες που εκδιώχθηκαν βίαια την εποχή του απαρτχάιντ, από αυτή τη συνοικία που είναι δίπλα στο επιχειρηματικό κέντρο του Κέιπ Τάουν όπου είχαν πρόσβαση μόνο οι λευκοί.
Από το District 6 εκδιώχθηκαν 6.000 έγχρωμοι κάτοικοι και εξορίστηκαν σε townships – στα γκέτο που δημιουργούνταν περιφερειακά των μεγάλων πόλεων για έγχρωμους πολίτες την εποχή του απαρτχάιντ.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι ένα από τα πολυαναμενόμενα σημεία της επίσκεψής ων πρίγκιπα Χάρι και Μέγκαν Μαρκλ στη Νότια Αφρική, θα είναι η συνάντηση την Τετάρτη (25/9) με τον 87χρονο νομπελίστα Ειρήνης Ντέσμοντ Τούτου, μια από τις αδιαμφισβήτητες προσωπικότητες του αγώνα κατά του απαρτχάιντ και στενό συνεργάτη του Νέλσον Μαντέλα, του πρώτου μαύρου προέδρου της Νότιας Αφρικής.

Από την Πέμπτη (26/9), ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι θα συνεχίσει μόνος την περιοδεία του στην περιοχή.Στην Μποτσουάνα, όπου ζει το ένα τρίτο των άγριων ελεφάντων της ηπείρου, ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι θα εστιάσει σε προγράμματα προστασίας του περιβάλλοντος, ενώ επόμενος σταθμός θα είναι η Ανγκόλα, όπου ο Χάρι θέλει να βαδίσει στα βήματα της μητέρας του Νταϊάνας και στον αγώνα της για την εξάλειψη των ναρκών κατά προσωπικού στη χώρα αυτή το 1997, λίγους μήνες πριν από τον τραγικό θάνατό της στο Παρίσι.
Ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι, θα επισκεφθεί ένα πρόγραμμα αποναρκοθέτησης στο Χουάμπο στην κεντροδυτική Ανγκόλα και ένα θεραπευτήριο όπου νοσηλεύονται θύματα των ναρκών που είναι σπαρμένες από τα 27 χρόνια του εμφυλίου πολέμου (1975-2002).
Ο Χάρι θα συνεχίσει την περιοδεία του στο Μαλάουι, όπου θα επισκεφθεί προγράμματα υγείας και καταπολέμησης της λαθροθηρίας.
Το ζεύγος θα ολοκληρώσει την επίσκεψή του στις 2 Οκτωβρίου στη Νότια Αφρική με συνάντηση πρώτα με την Γκράσα Μασέλ, τη χήρα του Μαντέλα, και μετά με τον πρόεδρο Σίριλ Ραμαφόσα.
Σημειώνεται ότι τρεις από τις τέσσερις χώρες που επισκέπτεται ο πρίγκιπας Χάρι -Νότια Αφρική, Μποτσουάνα και Μαλάουι- είναι μέλη της Κοινοπολιτείας., ενώ η Ανγκόλα, είναι υποψήφια προς ένταξη στον οργανισμό αυτό με τις 53 χώρες μέλη που ήταν παλιά βρετανικές αποικίες.
