Veterans Affairs: Forbes ranks VA as one of America’s best large employers

This year, VA was named one of the nation’s top large employers by Forbes magazine. In a survey of 50,000 Americans, a high number of VA employees said they would recommend working at VA to their friends and family.

“Being

recognized among America’s best large employers is about the impact our employees have on our Veterans because of the improvements VA has made to the employee work experience – ultimately resulting in better care and service,” said VA Chief Human Capital Officer Tracey Therit.

Last year, Forbes also named us one of America’s best employers in 17 states and a top employer for new grads. We also ranked sixth among the 17 largest federal agencies considered Best Places to Work in the Federal Government in a 2019 Partnership for Public Service report.

“Our engagement score reflects ongoing efforts to listen to and support our career professionals,” said Darren Sherrard, associate director of recruitment marketing at VA, after the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government ranking was announced. “Even as we strive to climb even higher, it’s wonderful to know that employees feel satisfied serving our nation’s Veterans every single day.”
