A meeting took place at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday to decide on the funeral rites for Greece’s former king, Constantine II.

The former monarch is to be buried as a private citizen, near his ancestors in Tatoi. This was decided at an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Specifically, the meeting made the following decisions:

former king will be buried as a private citizen,His burial site will be near to that of his ancestors in Tatoi,The church where the funeral service will be held will be decided in consultation between the government and the family,The government will be represented at the funeral by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni,All procedures envisaged by the protocol for visiting officials and dignitaries from abroad will be observed for those who attend the funeral.
