Η McLaren σταματά την παραγωγή της 12C για να καλύψει τη ζήτηση της 650S

Ένας εκπρόσωπος της McLaren, είπε πως η εταιρία παύει προσωρινά την παραγωγή της 12C για να καλύψει την ζήτηση που προέκυψε για την 650S.

Να θυμίσουμε πως η McLaren παρουσίασε την 650S στη Γενεύη. Πρόκειται για ένα μοντέλο που προσφέρεται τόσο ως Coupe όσο και ως Spider και τοποθετείται ανάμεσα στην “entry-level” 12C και την πιο ακραία P1. To “πρόβλημα” για την Αγγλική

φίρμα είναι ότι παρά το γεγονός ότι η 650S είναι ακριβότερη από την 12C, αποδεικνύεται πιο δημοφιλής. Πηγές μάλιστα αναφέρουν πως η McLaren εν θα αργήσει να σταματήσει οριστικά την παραγωγή του μικρού της μοντέλου.

Αυτό δεν σημαίνει όμως πως η McLaren θα μείνει χωρίς πρόταση στην κατηγορία. Οι ίδιες πηγές λένε πως η εξέλιξη του νέου entry-level μοντέλου της με κωδικό P13 έχει ήδη ξεκινήσει. Το μοντέλο αυτό αναμένεται να παρουσιαστεί το 2015 και η τιμή του θα είναι περίπου 130.000 λίρες (156.000€).

Στις σχετικές ειδήσεις, η McLaren ανακοίνωσε και μια ειδική εφαρμογή για tablets μέσα από την οποία ο καθένας μπορεί να δημιουργήσει την 650S της φαντασίας του.

The McLaren 650S tablet app enables users to configure a dream specification for the 650S Spider by selecting from the official paint, wheel and exterior carbon fibre options available.

Once the user has explored the full breadth of personalisation options available for the McLaren 650S, and is happy with the final look, they can then place the car into any desired location using the device’s photo gallery. The in-built functionality of the app will detect a range of backgrounds to adjust lighting and reflections accordingly, ensuring the final image looks as realistic as possible.

So whether it is the bright lights of Times Square in New York at night, Monaco’s famous marina, Shanghai city centre at dusk, or even the user’s own driveway, the McLaren 650S tablet app offers the chance to create the ultimate McLaren 650S Spider in the ultimate location.

‘Fans of McLaren will be able to use the innovative app to create some genuinely beautiful pieces of artwork with the 650S Spider,’ explained Frank Stephenson, Design Director at McLaren Automotive.
