Autopsy to be performed to determine cause of Michael Mosley’s death

A state coroner was due to examine today the body of British television presenter Michael Mosley who was discovered dead on the Greek island of Symi, near a coastal resort.

The body was found days after the television presenter went missing during a hike on the island, and the cause of his death has

yet to be determined. Still, a first examination by a state coroner at the site, has ruled out any kind of criminal act, or attack on Dr. Mosley.

His wife, Dr. Clare Bailey expressed the family’s profound grief and the solace they found in knowing he had nearly completed what was described as an “incredible climb” before taking a wrong turn and collapsing out of sight of the search team.

Mosley, 67, was reported missing last Wednesday when he failed to return from a walk, prompting a rigorous five-day search operation. 

In a heartfelt statement, Bailey shared her devastation over the loss of her “wonderful, funny, kind, and brilliant husband,” with whom she shared a deeply fulfilling life and mutual love.

The couple, who met in medical school, have four children, whom Dr. Bailey praised for their resilience and support during this difficult time. She also acknowledged the global outpouring of love and condolences, a testament to Mosley’s significant impact on many lives.

Known for his adventurous spirit and dedication to science, often participating in experiments involving his own body, Mosley’s unique character was cherished by his family and fans alike.
