Chrysochoidis at Promahonas: Aiming to enhance the security of the country

The improvement of the infrastructure at the Promahonas border station, in an effort to strengthen the sense of security of Greek citizens, was at the center of Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis' visit to Serres on Saturday.

The minister, as part of his visit, visited the Police Directorate of Serres,

the mayor and the deputy governor, and he presided over a broad meeting with the presence of the police and customs authorities.

In his statements, Chrysochoidis underlined, among other things, that "all problems will be thoroughly discussed at the meeting, in an effort to effectively deal with them and provide immediate solutions, always aiming to improve the security of the country."

"Police Directorate of Serres," he underlined, "is one of the most important border stations of our country due to Promahona, through which eight million passengers and two million cars pass from Eastern European and Central Asian countries. For this reason we are constantly on alert to check the entry and exit points as well as the routes that lead to the rest of mainland Greece."
