Greek-Built "Chaos" Ultracar Nears Completion

Spyros Panopoulos Automotive (SPA) is putting the finishing touches on the world’s first "ultracar," Chaos, with plans for road testing soon.

The company first unveiled the Chaos in November 2021, and it has been in development for the past three years.

Founder and CEO Spyros Panopoulos aims to officially present the car this summer. He has been keeping anticipation high by

releasing new images of its progress on social media.

According to Mr. Panopoulos, the engine has already been built, and road tests will begin soon. Engineers and designers had to completely rework its digital systems and software.

Due to the unique specifications, SPA also had to design and manufacture its own tires after major brands declined to produce just four units.

The Chaos measures 5,053 mm in length, 2,068 mm in width, and 1,121 mm in height, with a 2,854 mm wheelbase. It features a monocoque chassis with integrated racing bucket seats made from Zylon.

Zylon is a lightweight, highly rigid, and heat-resistant synthetic material distinguished by its golden fibers.

The roof is made from carbon fiber. Inside, the cockpit incorporates virtual reality technology to project 3D displays onto the windshield.

The Chaos is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V10 engine crafted from aluminum, titanium, and carbon fiber. Components such as the pistons, connecting rods, camshafts, and valves are made from titanium and carbon fiber.

The engine features 3D-printed parametric design elements. The turbochargers are also built using carbon fiber and titanium to withstand extreme temperatures and stress.

The ultracar is available in two versions: Earth and Zero Gravity. The Earth version produces 2,077 horsepower and 1,389 Nm of torque, with a rev limit between 10,000 and 11,000 rpm, depending on the fuel used.

The Zero Gravity edition delivers 3,107 horsepower and 1,984 Nm of torque, revving between 11,800 and 12,200 rpm. The Earth version weighs 1,388 kg, while the Zero Gravity comes in at 1,272 kg. Both models are designed to exceed 500 km/h in top speed.

As development nears completion, SPA is preparing to test the Chaos on public roads, marking a major milestone for Greece’s high-performance automotive industry.
