Greece has made significant progress, Eurogroup president Dijsselbloem says

Greece has made significant progress, Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem said on Monday, adding that efforts should continue in order to reach an agreement with the troika this week.
Dijsselbloem expressed his satisfaction at the fact that banks turn to the private sector to find the necessary funds following

the recent stress tests results. He reiterated that the responsibility to conduct the stress tests lies with the Bank of Greece (BoG), adding however that in autumn the country’s lenders will be subjected to European Central Bank (ECB) stress tests on the same terms as other European banks.
The Eurogroup president stressed the need for the negotiations to end this week, adding that some fiscal, banking and structural reform issues still remain open. «If each of us takes the necessary steps, a solution can be found,» he said.
«The Eurogroup will take the final decision when the troika completes its evaluation of the Greek programme,» Dijsselbloem said. He added that if an agreement with the troika was achieved this week, the final decision on the disbursement of the tranche was likely to be approved at the informal council meeting to be held on April 1 in Athens.
EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn said deliberations continue, pointing out though there were still significant pending issues.
The head of the European Stability Mechanism Klaus Regling stated that the amount and time of disbursement of the next tranche will depend largely on the results of the troika’s evaluation, noting that Greece is to receive 10.1 billion euros in 2014.
